My wife is the oil expert in our house so has kindly provided the following review:This Ajwain oil is perhaps one of the lesser known essential oils used in the UK but has been used traditionally in many cultures for centuries to cure all kinds of ills. Its known to help with conditions such as toothache stomach problems arthritis pain etc due to its anti-inflammatory qualities. It’s a middle-note aroma with a lovely warm spicy fragrance… almost peppery. I use this in my diffusers and it gives a cleansed yet warm ambience. This is a good price for very quality oil and comes in a bottle that doesn’t leak with an optional drip nozzle if you want to use it. I think its a lovely winter oil to diffuse during a cozy evening in on the sofa.

Essential oil therapy refers to the use of “therapeutic grade essential oils to promote physical emotional and spiritual health and well-being.” It is often called “aromatherapy. This Greenwood essential oil comes in a small cardboard box; this contains the 15ml glass bottle essential oil and a tip to insert into the bottle. There is a sealed cap within the hole to begin with for protection. The lid is not child safe. This oil should be kept out of reach of children.Ajwain essential oil is steam distilled from the seed-like fruits of a plant growing wild in India. There are several common names for the plant eg: Ajwain or Ajowan Caraway or Carom Seeds or Bishop’s Weed. Both the leaves and the seed-like fruits are used for human consumption. The botanical name is Trachyspermum ammi or alternatively Carum copticum. It is an annual herbaceous plant and a member of the Umbelliferae family.The essential oil is a brownish-yellow liquid with a potent sharp pungent medicinal-spicy aroma. It is widely used in Ayurvedic medicine as well as in some apothecary preparations but it also has culinary uses. It is sometimes used as a spice. All parts of the plant have a very strong scent known as ugraghanda in Sanskrit. The seeds have a pungent bitter taste said to resemble oregano. Because of its strong aromatic qualities in India it is often added to curries and pickles. This Ajwain oil form Greenwood certainly has an extremely strong odour it is exactly like oregano.USESAjwain Essential Oil is a significant source of Thymol which is well known as one of the most effective and powerful therapeutic substances available widely used for its anti-septic anti-microbial anaesthetic and pain-suppressing properties. Ajwain Oil has been traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine to alleviate the joint pain commonly experienced in the condition of rheumatoid arthritis. Ajwain oil has been used to treat bacterial and nematode infestations of the digestive system such as parasitic worms living in the intestines. It is believed to be effective in the treatment of peptic ulcers as well as reducing blood pressure and cholesterol levels.Other uses include the treatment of breathing difficulties the reduction of inflammation in various parts of the body neutralizing free-radical damage and more generally as a treatment for bacterial and fungal infections. Metaphysically Ajwain oil is used to stimulate and enhance awareness and consciousness refresh and bring clarity to the mind promote both bodily and mental vigour and as a help to create a positive outlook on life.STORAGEYou may want to use it diluted in a carrier oil etc. If so you will find it is readily soluble in alcohols and in most oils but it is insoluble in water. Ajwain oil will store and keep for 2 or more years quite easily however it is best if kept in a firmly sealed dark bottle in a cool dry place well protected from direct sunlight.This oil from Greenwood is 100% natural undiluted and of therapeutic grade. It states on the box that if stored correctly the Ajwain oil will keep for 36 months. The instructions on the side of the bottle are clear stating the amount of drops used in a carrier oil. Different uses require different amounts i.e. 5 to 6 drops into 30ml of carrier oil for use for facial skin care 10 to 12 drops in 30ml of carrier oil for body application and 15 to 30 drops in 30ml of carrier oil for acute care. I have used as directed 5 to 6 drops in 30ml of carrier oil for facial use; I used sweet almond oil as the carrier oil. The smell is quite unpleasant for facial use and 5 to 6 oils in my opinion is too much. My face felt hot and had a slight burning sensation; therefore I washed it off. My face did feel very clean and clear the following day. I would not recommend using this oil on the face to someone with a sensitive skin. I have also added a few drops again in a carrier oil into a bath. This felt relaxing but again I do not like the smell. I have also used it in carrier oil rubbed all over my hands as I have arthritis in my fingers it felt wonderful the heat generated by the oil felt soothing on the joints. I would recommend doing this and then putting on a pair of cotton gloves and be sure not to touch your face especially the eyes. This is one of those oils that I would use for burning during the winter months during the cough and colds season. I would also use it with a slightly heated carrier oil for a soothing beneficial body massage. An excellent oil to have in your collection of essential oils. For the price for this large 30ml bottle it is exceptional value.

I was not particularly familiar with ajwain oil but I have used essential oils from Greenwood Essential previously and been impressed by the quality so I decided to give it a try.As with other Greenwood Essential oils this ajwain oil is 100% pure. It is also undiluted which means that you only use a tiny amount at a time. Please bear this in mind when you are looking at the cost price. – Although they may seem expensive these essential oils do go a long way.The ajwain oil is very pungent and reminded me of strong thyme oil. Usually my primary use for essential oils is for aromatherapy via a diffuser. I have to say that ajwain is not ideally suited for this – and certainly not without being combined with some less pungent oil first. Used on its own it is simply too acrid (even when only a tiny amount is used) and the aroma is not that pleasing.Subsequently I combined the ajwain oil with some melissa (lemon balm) oil in the diffuser. I used 1 part ajwain oil to 2 parts melissa oil and this produced a much more pleasant aroma. However even in this combination it still had a mildly irritating effect on my eyes and throat. Consequently I think I will only be using this combination when I feel “chesty” or have a cold or sore throat that I want the properties of the ajwain oil to go to work on.In summary this is another top quality essential oil from Greenwood Essential but you will probably need to be quite selective about when / how you use it.

 First of all you need to know before buying essential oil that these are concentrates.Each has a fairly strong scent on its own and leaves a stain because they are usually oily in base.Most of it itself cannot be used with alone just with carrier oil.An essential oil is authentic and certainly of quality if it has a good strong and intense aroma.If you want to use this it’s a good idea before to read a little on which herb is for what. Because improper use can also cause problems.For example Ajwain is excellent It has a good antispasmodic effect and is also good for digestion.Therefore a company or a brand cannot be blamed. :)Greenwood products are a guarantee to me.So usually from their products too I make something for family and friends. Soap shampoo bubble bath and various oils. Very good and natural base material to add.If you have a quality product at an affordable price I would definitely recommend it.I really like it and the other products of the brand as well.

I had never heard of this essential oil prior to seeing in on amazon. I am a huge fan of essential oils and aromatherapy.The oil comes in a cardboard box in an amber coloured glass bottle. It comes with a plastic stopper which you have to remove and replace with the usual essential oil dropper which is included. the cap is NOT a child-safe one so keep it somewhere away from children.This essential oil comes from fruits of the Ajwain shrub and is a clear oil. It has a very strong aroma and I certainly wouldn’t want to contemplate using this undiluted and you should not. The dilution advise is clearly on the product description page.This is a pure undiluted essential oil and should only be used in a carrier oil not undiluted.This oil can often be more beneficial if blended with sage thyme or parsley.This oil has many ayurvedic benefits but it is potent and so care need to be taken. Check online or ask an expert
